They say Sonsbeek is called “the pearl in the Veluwezoom”. During the penultimate ice age, the Veluwe Massif took on the main lines that we now know. Large ice masses folded the landscape in a frozen state. Later, löss was deposited on the slopes by the wind. This created a richly varied area with the lifeline of Sint-Jansbeek, also known as Molenbeek. On its banks stood century long ten dozen water mills. There are now two left, one of which still serves as a flour mill today: the monumental White Water Mill. The Grand Café of Stadsvilla Sonsbeek is the central meeting place in the villa. The entire year the terrace is a good place to sit; with a view over the park and the city of Arnhem. In the dark months you can enjoy a cozy candlelit dinner.

One of the best park in the Netherlands. If you come to Arnhem for a visit, you cannot miss it!

Nice park in the heart of Arnhem, great for a walk. Has a good chinese restaurant and you can have a drink or lunch in the White Villa. Citizens of Arnhem gather on Sunny days to spend time on the lawn in the sun.
