5 miles south of town is High Bridge. When opened in 1877 was the tallest railroad bridge in the world and held that record until the 20th century.

High Bridge has been designated as a National Civil Engineering Landmark. Constructed in 1876, it is the first cantilever bridge in the United States. It is a beautiful place for a picnic!
