If the Roses are in bloom-you are in luck. if they aren't-still a great place to take a picnic lunch and relax. Right near NC State University.

This spot is a great place to bring a bottle of wine and a picnic lunch. Sit among the roses, throw a frisbee. (Bonus - its right next to Raleigh Little Theatre - catch a local play!)

My absolute favorite place! Take a morning walk to Cup a Joe, grab your coffee and make a detour to the Rose Garden. I promise you won't find a better place to enjoy that cup of coffee.

Take a quick walk (1/2 mile) to one of three accredited rose gardens in the Carolinas. It's a great place to relax, have a picnic and occasionally catch live music or early AM yoga.
