SANDWICHES & GROCERIES | The Wayside is the quintessential country store, and has a wide selection of groceries and Vermont wares—Wines, nice cheeses, some local baked goods and produce. There is also a deli counter in the back where they make great, sandwiches. We love to pick up a picnic lunch here and take it on the road to the covered bridge at the Arlington Green.

An absolute must see. This is one of the oldest general stores and it feels like you're stepping back in time when you enter. They sell everything from sandwiches to syrup, from work gloves and Carharts to local sodas and treats. Prepare to spend a little while.

Wayside is a wonderful classic Vermont country store along the Batten Kill River with a delicious deli, plenty of snacks and a myriad of other items you may need. Open 6am - 7pm. Our suggestion is go check out the Red Covered Bridge and grab some sammy's to go!

Wonderful little convenience store that is the closest store to our cabin. They carry all sorts of basics, and also many "only-in-Vermont" treats, including Wilcox ice cream and hand-made frozen pizzas. They also have a large sandwich menu for lunches.

This is our classic, old-time general store with everything from breakfast sandwiches to movie rentals, to firecrackers. Stop in and say hey to the locals!
