39 min DRIVE or 33mi/ Must Visit! /BEST NM state park according to Cande Nast Traveler! /Volcanic rock pinnacles sprout up from the Chihuahuan Desert floor at the aptly named City of Rocks. Kids will love scrambling around on the thousands of pockmarked boulders, while adults can revel in the colorful sunsets and dazzling night skies.
