Fantastic brass band concerts are held throughout the summer at 14:30. It’s fun to take a picnic and listen to this lovely music by the sea. On 22nd September 1989 the IRA exploded a bomb at the Royal Marines School of Music in Deal that killed 11 Musicians and seriously injured 11 more Deal Memorial Bandstand was built in their memory

Many activities take place on Walmer Green on Bank Holiday weekends and other. Every July the Royal Marines hold a memorial service in aid of those marines & families affected by the IRA bombing some thirty plus years ago.
