The fishing history of Barnstaple is captured here. They often have local artist and photographer exhibitions. Our son, Oscar, placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in 3 different categories for photography here in 2015.

It's free to enter, has a decent selection of artefacts on display which provides some history to the local area and there is a store to browse.
