This is a mostly level 3 mile hike up a beautiful slick rock canyon to a year-round waterfall. During summer months it is best either early, early in the morning to beat the heat or late afternoon to take advantage of the afternoon shade from the canyon walls. The canyon runs mostly North and South and the trail is on the West side of the water. You can splash and play in the water at the bottom of the waterfall so you may want to make a day of it. Hike in early, enjoy lunch and the cool water, hike out late in the afternoon. During the spring or fall, the hike is beautiful in midday. Lighting for photography is usually considered best in the morning.

Lower Calf Creek Falls are 130 feet high, with a deep swimming hole underneath them. The entire creek is surrounded by greenery, but particularly underneath the spray of the waterfall. The lower falls are the most famous out of the two waterfalls on Calf Creek, and attracts many visitors every year.

This is one of our favorite hikes. It's about 3 miles round trip, but fairly flat as you hike up a small canyon towards an absolutely beautiful waterfall with a swimming hole beneath it.

It is about 96 miles away. Drive time is about 1 hr 45 minutes on paved roads. This is great 3 mike hike. The scenery along the hike is amazing. Parking can get a little challenging in the summer time but not impossible. The hike is not very challenging either unless you are a desk jockey but just go slow and talk to all the people on the trail it will be worth it.
