Park then walk to the right. Trails aren't marked. You can just walk along the waters edge. It's beautiful.
The park is a great place to see the ocean. But there is a separate entrance for those that want to off road it.
Spooky and beautiful, MacKenzie State Park a 13-acre recreation area perched on the jagged lava sea cliffs along the Red Road. The signature feature of the park is the largest stand of ironwood trees in the Hawaiian islands and the main attraction is experiencing the raw power of the waves along the sea cliffs. There are restrooms and a covered picnic pavilion. Camping is not advised and rogue waves are extremely dangerous so please heed the numerous danger signs. Park entrance is free but entry into lava tubes or caves is prohibited.
