Just 5 minutes walk from the villa you can enjoy the beautiful ponds at Ruskin mill. Home to interesting wildlife including many herons and possible glimpse of a dashing kingfisher in a backdrop of natural ponds and woods nestled in the Horsley valley.

Walk in the grounds of the Ruskin mill college, enjoy home cooked food in their public cafe, stunning landscapes and ponds.

Good tray baked lunches, salads, cakes and a beautiful walk round the mill ponds and trout farm - though I have never found out what they do with the trout!

The cafe is great but the walk up the valley is idyllic, so if the café is closed its still a great to visit
