This is a restaurant on the fancier side, pretty expensive but the food is really good. It's one of my personal favorites for special occasions.

Located in Cais de Gaia, Enoteca 17.56 is part of the visitor center of Real Companhia Velha. It has a large space, with a restaurant, two private rooms and a panoramic terrace, overlooking the Douro River and Ribeira do Porto. On the menu there are Portuguese dishes of meat, fish and seafood, Asian food, gourmet pizzas and other proposals of Italian cuisine, and an offer of national and international cheeses, in charge of Fromagerie Portuguesa. Enoteca 17.56's best-sellers remain, such as Joselito sausages, steak tartar, Bulhão Pato clams, sea bass fillets, octopus à lagareiro and aged meats. ($$$$$)
