Port Renfrew is a two hour scenic drive. If you can time it to arrive at low tide (check the tide tables), Botanical Beach has amazing tide pools-well worth the short hike down to the beach. Avatar Grove has some huge first growth trees.

Great for a day trip. Check out Botannical Beach, and the local pub for some great views and lunch.

Port Renfrew is a remote community. With this, you should know a few important tips before coming: - Port Renfrew does not have a grocery store. However, the San Juan Market stocks some produce, meats and other foods. The market also sells beer & liquor. With that said, it is highly recommended that you do your shopping before coming to Port Renfrew, as we may not have exactly what you want. The San Juan Market is open from 11am to 7pm. - There is currently no cell service in Port Renfrew, BC. Be prepared to be less connected than usual. WiFi is available in various locations. We suggest enabling 'WiFi Calling' on your phone before coming. - Regular Gas, Diesel & Propane is available from the Pacheedaht Pit Stop, our local gas station. Their hours vary, but they are generally open from 9am to 5pm. - WiFi can be slow sometimes. Because of our remote nature, our internet connection speed is limited. Standard streaming services like netflix may be slower than normal, and you may not be able to upload large files such as videos. This might seem like a lot, but Port Renfrew offers a chance to reconnect in other ways. Be sure to check out our other guidebooks to find ways to connect with nature!

A great place to get a taste of the wild west coast of the island! Lots of places to see and stop on the road in. Whale watching, some restaurants and a beautiful beach!
