Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway is a must on your visit. Check out the NPS website for hiking trails and waterfalls. The area around Doughton Park has beautiful scenery and fantastic hikes.

16 miles south is Doughton Park a beautiful area along the Blue Ridge Parkway with picnic areas and hiking.

My go to!!! Do yourself a favor and visit this area and explore the trails. They are short and non strenuous but provide amazing views! Best place for sunsets and stargazing around! Just north on the parkway. Less than 10 minutes away.
