Santa Cruz is 30 minutes over the hill off of Hwy 17. There is a boardwalk for those who carnival rides, the ocean, and much more. Check out Maryann's Ice Cream for a special treat!!

Santa Cruz is the only warm weather beach town in NorthCal--it feels more like SoCal in that sense. It has a hippy but laid back atmosphere, and holds many attractions both inside Santa Cruz and south of SC at Capitola or Aptos.

About a 5-hour drive to the cool beach community of Santa Cruz, known for surfers, the Beach Boardwalk, and a very natural/eco-community. (the 5 is the fast, boring drive — take the 101 for slightly longer but much more scenic drive)
