Emerson offers shaded paths, it is a beautiful preserve for walking , we see other fishing on hanging out at the small beach area. It is pet friendly and somewhat bike friendly.. Also, this park has relics of Native Americans as well as early settlers. There is a wooden walkway that goes up to several mounds. The walkway is designed for wheelchair. I believe the ramp might be too steep for some. The park is free, and is maintained by Manatee County and state of Florida.

Great location, look out across the Bay. Have seen Manatees in the river here. Also seen a number of raccoons, snakes, ospreys and lots of other birds
