Arriving at Cais de Gaia, we find, among the small historic streets, a passage for a pedestrian or bicycle route along the extensive river. A path made of stone and wood that extends along the riverside passing through the Serras de Gaia, ruins of what were once the cellars by the river, and a chapel that extends to the river. Walking along this route we find the true nature of the riverfront that extends over 10 km, passing through farms, palaces, an area of pure nature with waterfalls, small streams and river beaches.

If you like a river beach, this is the best in the city of Porto. A beach overlooking the “São João” bridge and the “Maria Pia” bridge. You can enjoy warmer waters on this beach, as well as observe a beautiful landscape over the historic bridges and typical boats of Porto.
