Kaptan June is very famous in Dalyan for basically protecting the turtles and getting the beach designated as a conservation area for the turtles.

Kaptan June is famous for saving the Iztuzu Beach from mass tourism and preserving the logger head turtles "Carreta Carreta". Her hut and turtle rescue centre are situated at far end of beach. You can get to beach by water taxi at harbour in town or dolmus from small bus station in town stops at Kaptan June end. You can walk full length of beach in approx 1 hour, The beach as great catering and drinks facilities ant both end.
