Great walk on the beach to your own little watering hole. Walk to the RIGHT of Seven Seas Beach to “La Cueva”. This beach walk will be about a 45 minutes at a slow pace. Near the end, you will see trail entrances from the beach, follow them. You will get to La Zanja (The Trench) - where the sea meets the cove.

In Spanish, the name of this cave means "The Trench." La Zanja is a unique natural swimming pool protected from the Atlantic surge. Popular among locals, this trail is a bit of a trek. Begin at Seven Seas beach and walk along the beach until you reach the coastal cliffs. Eventually, you will come to a volcanic rock projection that you ascend before descending into the cave. Wear water shoes or hiking boots if you don't mind getting wet, and make sure to bring water, food, and wear a bathing suit under your clothes. La Zanja is located in the Cabezas de San Juan Natural Reserve, which is managed by Para La Naturaleza. Visit their website for more hiking options in the reserve. Sierra Club of Puerto Rico periodically organizes a challenging hike around the Cabezas de San Juan Reserve called Escarpados y Farallones, which includes a dip in La Zanja.

La Zanja (“the Trench”, in English) is one of those places. Once photos started being posted on social media, it immediately goes on everyone’s must-visit list. Now, you’re lucky if you can be there alone. Located in Fajardo, on the northeastern-most tip of Puerto Rico, right along the rugged coast, this little pool is a hidden gem. It is in Las Cabezas de San Juan nature reserve property, so it is not accessible by car. Getting there is a bit of a walk, but La Zanja is so pretty, it is worth the hike.

Go to this Beach very beautiful one. Once you are in Las Cabezas in Fajardo, then you have to walk all the way down cross the mountain and then you find this beach area very private.
