For the aviators, Europe 's largest gliding centre is located just south of town. To make adventurous flight in the southern Alps can be easily arranged. You can either book the basic tour which takes you for into the Alps or you book for the all in tour where they take you deep in the Alps (www.aapca.net).

The initial reason for coming to Tourrettes is the gliders airfield ( soaring), being a glider pilot myself. It is possible to get the experience by booking a discovery flight some days in advance. Best go to the reception desk at the airfield and select a day you like to give it a try. That is Kika and I on the picture

Gliding Airfield. Nice to have a cup of coffee, take gliding lessons, or join a pilot and go up into the air yourself.

Take a 30 minute tour in a glider and see the Canton de Fayence from above. Its amazing!
