Hotel Settles was built-in 1930, sadly it became a victim of the great depression and limped along until 1980 when it was permanently closed. The locals were sure it would be demolished in the 2000s, but then Brint Ryan, who was raised in Big Spring, took an interest in the hotel and completely restored it to its grandeur in 2013. It is a must-see! Hotel Settles has the nicest dining experience in Big Spring, with a well-appointed dining room and a chef-inspired menu. Like most places in Big Spring, service can be a touch slow, so be prepared to relax and spend a little more time enjoying lunch or dinner. Their menu will change, but they always keep a steak available, which is usually still very good. Before corona craziness, they were offering an extensive Sunday buffet brunch, so check with them and see if it's available. They also have an eloquent bar where you can enjoy a sweet drink and conversation without blaring music and loud crowds. The bar has a pool table and poker table as well.
