High speed and traditional ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

There are two ferry companies operating out of Hyannis to Nantucket: The HyLine, and the Steamship Authority. The HyLine and the SA both have a fast ferry which gets you there in an hour, the SA also has the slow boat which takes two hours and takes cars. The fast ferry cost $38.50 one way. The slow boat is $18.50 one way, bikes are $7 additional, cars expensive and very possibly not worth it. We have always used the slow ferry. Playing cards is traditional, bikes are easy, pets are no problem, chowder is good, and Cisco beer is on tap. If you are lucky you can get a booth and a nap. I'm sure its the same on the fast ferry, but its filled with tourists.
