Poet Dionysios Solomos wrote the “Hymn to Liberty” on Stranis Hill that later became Greece’s National Anthem.
Strani’s Hill is a beautiful wooded place that offers a captivating view. This was one of Dionysios Solomos favorite places; it was here that the poet was inspired, from canonnades in Mesologgi, and wrote the “Hymn to Liberty” that later became Greece’s National Anthem. At a short distance on top of the hill there is Solomo’s mansion, while at the small square in front of it one may see his bust.
