Sonoma is full of historic sites and the Presidio Barracks on the Plaza, circa 1835 is a worthwhile visit. A Sonoma State Historical Park.

Also called Sonoma Barracks: Former home to Mexican Army troops under the command of General Vallejo. Troops first arrived in 1834, after the Commandant of Presidio San Francisco was instructed to bring move his garrison to Sonoma.
