Many happy memories of buying a 6 week summer funsters pass, spending hours colouring the design in and protecting it neatly with sticky back plastic so that it survived the summer. Then going there daily with my street family for swimming, badminton, tennis, crazy golf, gymnastics, tournaments, roller skating, cinema etc. Running home at lunchtime for greenhalghs dinner and then back for the afternoon. Recently I believe that they still do day passes and weekly passes, but I'm not sure about this. Friday night swimming club was also awesome, especially the galas. My children go to cheadle baths which is just the same as the old horwich pool and they both came first in this year’s gala competition and got huge trophies plus medals 🏅 . Paddy McGuiness (max and paddy/ Peter Kay) used to work at the old leisure centre. He was always funny and popular with the ladies. He talked to all my friends. I don’t think he knows me, I was always quiet, polite and unconfident. Or my friends were gobby ! Wet, wet, wet; get bye with a little help from my friends. So I took the boys swimming here again during the rainiest Easter holidays ever. £10 to swim for as long as you like. My youngest needed a poo, so I was waiting outside the male toilets, stretching my arms out above my head on a door frame in my swimming costume, as I do, for my bad back. Then a bloke came out of the toilets and asked what on earth are you doing? So I explained. That I wasn’t just hanging around outside a male toilets trying to make new friends and he said, ohh that’s ashame, I was just admiring your hairy armpits. This makes me laugh, so much. I thought this could only happen to me, then I realised, no, this could only happen in horwich.

Good for swimming - fairly new pool. It is a community leisure centre so no membership needed.
