For kayakers: There is a descent to the Potomac River, near Old Angler's Inn. There is also a great place near Lock 5.

My favorite outdoor eating spot! This cozy, romantic, and beautiful upscale modern American restaurant with a terrace & beer garden is a neighborhood staple for seasonal eats. An early evening walk on the scenic C&O Canal across the street before dinner makes for a perfect date or an unforgettable family outing. Only 6 miles away!

Beautiful place to go hiking. Be prepared from some strenuous hikes if you do the Billy Goat Trail. There are some rock scrambles that require a bit of extra effort. It goes along the Potomac River, just don't get tempted to jump in the river. Serious undertow!

It's part of Great Falls National Park. It offers both light and difficult trails. For leisure walks, stay on the C&O path. For challenging hikes, try to the Billy Goat trails
