The Duna-Ipoly National Park covers part of the Danube Shore, as will as the Ipoly river. Near Vác, it includes the river forest along the Danube, as well as some river arteries, sheltering wild life like beavers and many types of birds and butterflies. Part of the National Park are the volcanic Börzsöny Mountains, great for those who like walking, and easy to reach by train or bus.
