If you’re looking forward to lake swimming, plan on visiting Highland Park Reservoir. It’s an additional drive, but is much more swimming-friendly than Clear Lake and has picnic tables, bbq stations, multiple swimming areas, and restrooms. You can also kayak etc.

A nice quiet place for a walk. There is also a disc golf course if you are Frisbee inclined.
