Trail starts in downtown Republic and runs thru Ishpeming, Negaunee, and ends in Marquette!
The Iron Ore Heritage Trail is a 47-mile, year-round, multi-use, interpretive trail that crosses the Marquette Iron Range in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Those who bike, walk, run, hike, ORV, snowmobile, cross country ski, birdwatch, and/or wander will find a section of trail perfect for your activity. The trail runs right through downtown Marquette.
The IOHT is a great trail system that stretches from Marquette to Michigamme. An easy place to pick up the trail is behind the Border Grill on Washington Street.
The Iron Ore Heritage Trail is a 47-mile bicycle and hiking trail in Michigan that presents a look at some of the key sites of human and geological heritage on the Marquette Iron Range. Trailheads are located at the Marquette Welcome Center in Marquette, and in Republic west of Marquette.
This trail is fantastic. It is a multi use trail that just happens to run by the Cedar st Guest House. parts are paved and parts are gravel. It connects to the R.A.M.B.A trailhead which is a mountain bike trail system in Ishpeming and the neighboring town in Negaunee. If you have more then one vehicle and one that can haul your bikes you can park in Marquette, drive back to Ishpeming and do the Iron Range Roll...19 miles of mostly decline all the way into Marquette. If you like breweries there are 4 that are pretty much right on the trail. You could ride all the way back but it's up hill all the way.
