This trail is just past Moro Rock, a relatively flat and easy walk, abundant with flora and fauna. You may find numerous wildflowers, marmots, squirrels, chipmunks and even bears.

For those traveling to the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park, Crescent Meadow offers a gentle hike that is great for children and adults. The Crescent Meadow Picnic Area is 2.6 miles from the Giant Forest Museum, near Moro Rock and several trailheads. The picnic area rests at the edge of a lush meadow, surrounded by giant sequoias. From here, you can follow the High Sierra Trail deep in the wilderness, or hike a short loop around Crescent or Log meadows.

A beautiful high-country meadow with trails leading in all directions through the Giant Forest grove of giant sequoias. Visit historic Tharp’s Log. Enjoy views of the Kaweah River’s Middle Fork Canyon from high above on the High Sierra Trail. See some of the largest and oldest trees in the world. And keep an eye, out for bears and other indigenous wildlife.

Beautiful spot for a leisurely stroll around the meadow; often a top spot for wildlife spotting, specifically deer and bears.
