Our guide went through all the areas of the store, and dropped bits of history and personal knowlege throughout. It was nice walk and chat, highly recommend to anyone curious about Portland history and books of all kinds!

Kevin was a great guide through Powell’s, providing insight and interesting stories about the construction of the building and how much Powell’s has impacted everyone, inside and out. Having a guide walk us through every single room allowed us to plan exactly where we wanted to go and even showed us rooms we never would’ve gone to without him. Definitely book this experience if this is your first time going to Powell’s.

Kevin has been with Powell's a very long time and therefore has years of knowledge, stories, and unique insights. We especially loved hearing about the guest speakers that he regularly hosts. He showed us many little nooks that we had never visited before. He was very engaging, easy to chat with and welcomed our numerous questions. Powell's has a fascinating history that we had never known about until now, despite having visited before. We feel like we have insider knowledge now, thanks to Kevin! Bonus: he recommended a fabulous lunch spot just down the block. Yum!
