Sonya tailored the tour to fit our needs and interests and she had tons of tips of where to go for the best of everything. But the best part was, she knew stories, relationships, and personalities and gave us an inside look at the people who sell at the market. A snapshot of insider’s Portland!

We have listened to Sonya’s podcast and taking this tour has been on our list of things to do in Portland for a while. Although we have been to Portland countless times, we had never been to this farmers market. Sonya’s tour was an outstanding introduction to this impressive gathering of farmers and other producers. Sonya shared her deep knowledge of food and connections on this tour which gave us a lot of insight for how to find the best seasonal produce and other selections amongst the myriad of options. She shared background on the market, as well as the stands we visited, including her personal knowledge of all the people involved in growing and preparing what we saw. Sonya also provided suggestions for cooking everything on display, including her own plans for recipes. We had plenty of time to peruse and explore while Sonya kept us moving through the experience together. This was a great tour and we look forward to returning throughout the seasons when we are in Portland.

I was looking forward to joining this tour, but because I live in Portland and have shopped this market many times, my expectations were fairly low. Wow, this was so much fun. We got a lot of insider tips and I truly feel like I experienced the market more fully and with fresh eyes. Having an insider tell me where to get all of the best quality and best valued produce abd specialty foods was worth the price of the tour and then some. Thank you, Sonya!!
