Beacon Hill is one of Boston’s most charming and historic neighborhoods, known for its cobblestone streets, brick sidewalks, and gas-lit lanterns. As you stroll through its narrow, tree-lined roads, you'll be transported to a bygone era. The area is famous for Acorn Street, often called the most photographed street in the country due to its picturesque, old-world charm.

Author Louisa May Alcott lived here from 1880 to 1888. The Nichols House Museum, a Federal-style home by Boston architect Charles Bulfinch, shows how Beacon Hill's upper class residents lived and is filled with collections of 16th- to 19th-century furnishings and decorative arts.
