The school house

The School House is situated up a tree lined driveway, and offers peaceful, self catering accommodation for 1-3 people. It is an 5 minute drive (3km) from the centre of Te Awamutu. The school house is situated in a rural setting, with beautiful views of the garden and surrounding countryside. Built in the 1880's and operational as a school until 1939, it has a character and history that is unique. Surrounded by trees it has a host of native birds including Tui, Fantails and Kingfishers.

Perfect for professionals/couples (no children sorry) wanting to explore Cambridge, or make a base for day trips to all the surrounding areas – beaches, tourist attractions, cycling and more. We are a 20-25 min walk (5 min drive) to Cambridge town. Cambridge is the jewel of the Waikato and has a wonderful high street of shops, cafes and restaurants.

Enjoy a peaceful private apartment (main bedroom, ensuite & kitchenette). 2nd bedroom available which sleeps 3 (internal staircase to our private residence between bedrooms). Surrounded by farmland on the main tourist route between Waitomo/Hobbiton/Rotorua/Karapiro/Cambridge. We live downstairs with our 3 children, cat & dog. You are welcome to use our swimming pool, spa (hot tub), tennis court & BBQ area (with fire pit). Perfect accommodation for singles, couples or families!

Rosetown Hideaway

Make yourself at home in this sunny, comfy space. You’ll have a cosy king bed, your own bathroom, and kitchenette, free Wi‑Fi, Freeview TV, off‑street parking, and a private entrance. We’re just a short stroll to local shops, cafés, takeaways and the lovely Rose Gardens. Te Awamutu is also a great base for exploring — the Waitomo Glowworm Caves, Hobbiton, and the beautiful Hamilton Gardens are all an easy day trip away. Sorry, no pets.

Panetapu House is located just 2 hours from Auckland Airport, and 45 minutes from both Hobbiton and Waitomo Caves. 1hr15 from Rotorua and 1hr20 from Taupo. Nearby is Sanctury Mountain-Maungatautari, Otorohanga Kiwi House, both just 25mins away. Or just relax, put a record on, enjoy the space, and unwind in the Hot tub.
