There are more than a dozen unique eateries and drinkeries located in this walking friendly neighborhood. Just a few include Ted’s Bulletin, Paladar-Latin Kitchen and Rum Bar, and Coastal Flats-great seafood and ambiance. For meat lovers there is Ted’s Montana Grill and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouses-both with excellent happy hour appetizers and drinks. You can find many other options as you stroll around the mini-city type neighborhood.

Our favorite Mexican food is served at Guapo’s-a family owned business that excels in customer service and great margaritas. Other favorites include Tara Thai, True Food, Yard House and Nando’s. After eating, stroll around the lake and rent a paddle boat or visit the carousel. There is a new luxury AMC Cinema-18 that shows all the recent movies. There are specialty shops as well as Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods. A cluster of recently added fire pits adds to the quaintness of the Rio.

It’s gorgeous tree-lined streets offer an abundance of unique shops and restaurants. A few of our favorite places to eat are Gambrills, Isabella’s, Pistarro’s , Firestone’s and White Rabbit Gastropub. There are many excellent breweries and distilleries, many of which are right on the canal. If you have time, take a walk along the canal, stop for a
beverage and then top the evening off with a magnificent dinner at The Wine Kitchen. You need a few days to really experience all this fantastic city has to offer.

It is a beautiful day trip to visit the rivers and town. There are museums, shops and quaint restaurants that are wonderful to browse. You can also rent rafts for the day to float down the river when the weather is nice.

There is something for everyone at Lone Oak. Indoor, pavilion or picnic table seating. Glamping tents or firepit rentals. A great playground. Gorgeous views. The beer, hard seltzers and slushies rotate regularly and they have a snack shack and a variety of food trucks. Even if the parking lot looks full, there is always plenty of room to meet for a few beers.

A unique microbrewery that not only brews great beer, but creates blends in barrels that you won't taste anywhere else. They have a great IG for details on their current offerings. Food trucks are occasionally there (check their IG), but you are welcome to bring your own grub. The picnic tables in woods with the pine needles under foot are especially welcoming. When the fairy lights come on in the evening, it's quite magical.
