Our group of 5 had a wonderful stay at this property. it's very conveniently located close to the main area of town (10 min drive), but far enough away that it's very quiet with a beautiful backyard looking out at the lake. There are 2 very good bakeries and multiple resturants within a 5 min walk. We had a Kia Carnival rental van that we were able to easily park in the off street parking spot in front of the house. The house was very nicely stocked and had very comfortable beds. We loved all the modern touches and amenities. Danny & Aimee are fantastic hosts and are super responsive to questions. It poured rain the whole time we were there so we were not able to utilize the outdoor amenities. However we found peace in seeing the black swans swimming in the lake during the day. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again. Thank you very much!

The Redwood Retreat is the most amazing place. It offers everything you could wish for. Everything in this house is thoughtful and well-appointed. We felt right at home and enjoyed our holiday there, even when the weather turned nasty for three days. This house offers the perfect relaxing atmosphere after a day of adventure and activity. Thank you so much for the most beautiful time we had.

Communications were fast and clear with Jessica. The house had everything we needed and was close to the City Centre and the Airport. Our whānau loved the spa, we highly recommend this property, and would stay again.

Everything was absolutley spotless. The house felt so welcoming and we slept so well in the beds. Super comfortable mattresses and beautiful linen. Carpets felt like they were brand new. Anne was so kind and was happy to be there if we needed her. She made our 5 year old daughter feel at home. My daughter loved the presence of the animals on the property and the swings and trampoline were a pleasant surprise for her. We feel like we didn’t have enough time in Rotorua so plan to come back again one day and won’t hesitate to stay here again.

Location is excellent and is in the middle of all the activities. We had a comfortable stay.

Beautiful stay nearby to Rotorua, white water rafting and geothermal areas. The bathtub on the deck is absolutely huge and definitely the highlight.

We loved Ellen's home and gardens. And the hens. And the hot tub. So many different plants - flowers and fruits. We ate raspberries, feijoa, fresh eggs, passionfruit, herbs, etc. Ellen made room for us in the fridge, the cupboards, wardrobes, etc. Everything was so clean and tidy - we really felt at home. Will be back one day.

A beautiful renovated old house with higher ceilings and lots of nice decorations, big rooms and lounge/dining area/kitchen and a big garden. Good beds, shower, TV and WiFi. It has almost everything except a BBQ. There is a washing mashine and dryer (which does not work that well anymore), dishwasher, a pool with salt water, a wonderful whirl pool which we had to get up to temperature first and could only use from the second day. It is a shame that they put in a carpet in the lounge/dining are and another carpet on top. This carpet curled and was a trip hazard. The one toilet and the dryer were not clean but the rest was good. There was salt but no pepper. It also provided tea, coffee, sugar, oil. All in all we enjoyed our stay very much. We forgot a bag and they sent it on to us free of charge. I enjoyed the closed verandah and used is as an office but the socket behind the desk did not work. We found a power strip and a (dirty) extension cable. There is also an iron and ironboard.

We were very happy to spend the last 4 nights of our NZ trip at Toka Ridge 4. The property was pristine with beautiful views of the lake. It was a quiet area that felt a little remote, but the shops, restaurants and bustle of Roturua were just 15-20 mins away. Two easy Alltrails walks were within walking distance of the property. The Hamurana Lakefront Reserve Walkway (offering great views of the lake) began just down the road and, near its end, the Hamurana Springs Loop Walkway (a lovely/surprising mix of redwoods and cold springs with lots of ducks) began across the street. A few mosquitos did find us while visiting the jacuzzi just after dusk, but did not bother us during the day. The consensus of our group was that Toka 4 was the nicest Airbnb of our 5+ week NZ stay. The hosts William and Tian were very helpful and responsive to messages leading up to our stay. William came to the house on the day to make sure we had a working TV and showed us how to use the spa. He was friendly and very kind. The house was spacious with comfortable beds, linen/pillows and couches. There were extra towels and blankets to use as well. The spa was a wonderful addition and we enjoyed it on those cool autumn nights. The house was very clean and I felt very comfortable having my baby stay there. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need to make meals and serve a big family. They even had coffee pods for the morning. The garden was big, beautiful and peaceful - it would’ve been perfect for summer. Location is great - close enough to the city but far enough for it to feel secluded. Thank you for accommodating us!
