West Dover: soggiorni in B&B

Caitlin and her husband, Peter, are caring, considerate hosts. They made me feel welcome in their beautifully appointed, light-filled home. They were open and friendly, interested in finding out who I was, while being respectful of my privacy. When I explained I didn't like to eat first thing in the morning, they went out of their way to prepare a yummy, healthy "to-go" breakfast I could take with me to the program I was attending. Caitlin even loaned me her favorite travel coffee mug for my tea. I was able to spend my final morning having breakfast with them and they prepared a delightful meal, replete with fresh fruits and flowers from their garden. We sat outside amongst the beautiful plantings and each shared with me a precious piece of their own life story as well as how they met. That's how I discovered what wonderful people they are. I would return there in a heartbeat. Staying at the Sanctuary provided a welcome contrast from the intensity of the program I was attending.

Super charming home and guest space upstairs. We were looking for a comfy place to spend a few winter days with our Williams student and this fit the bill perfectly. Super close to campus, but the view out of the northwest window made it feel like we were in a wood cabin in the middle of the woods somewhere. Great communication with owner.

The Shearer Hill Farm is not only a cozy and beautiful place to stay at, it also has the best hosts, Patricia and Bill. Their attention to detail, kindness and hospitality made this a fantastic experience. Breakfast here was worthy of a 5 star restaurant, their coffee and jams were sooo good too. Our rooms was beautifully decorated, also super comfy and clean. Thanks for having us so last minute! Hope to be back soon. :)

Kevin went out of his way to cook us a vegan breakfast, the best we've ever had. Kevin is fun to be around, the common room was cozy and soothing, small B&B so met and chatted with people.

Michael was a wonderful host. Was right there when we checked in even though it was late. He was helpful and kind and we felt right at home from the moment we walked in the door. Michael is a fabulous cook and breakfast each day was amazing. He remembered what you liked or your dietary restrictions. I can't say enough good about the place. From the basket of knitting, to the puzzles, reading materials, and games, you felt like you were one of the family just hanging out. Many thanks Michael and Kevin for an awesome stay!! I know we will be back!!

My mom, sister & I stayed at the Ira Allen House for Labor Day weekend, and it was the perfect location for our getaway! It is a beautiful, historic home with so much charm! Our room was clean, comfortable, and the perfect amount of space for us 3 adults. Every breakfast we had was delicious and the best way to start our day. Kevin & Michael were also very accommodating to our various dietary restrictions! The other bed & breakfast guests were all so friendly as well, and we enjoyed engaging in conversation with them over coffee in the dining room where breakfast is served. We loved the beautiful property - sitting on rocking chairs on the front porch and on Adirondack chairs near the Battenkill River were a relaxing post-breakfast activity before exploring nearby Manchester, VT. The Ira Allen House is also a convenient location to get to Saratoga, NY in just about an hour! Can't wait to visit again for hopefully a Fall or Winter or even Spring retreat! Vermont is so beautiful and this stay captured the true Vermont essence!

Kevin and Michael are the perfect hosts. We felt right at home and were well fed on delicious breakfast with local ingredients. Close to the museums we wanted to see and near excellent restaurants in Manchester. As a bonus we got the room with the fireplace and plenty of starter logs.

I absolutely loved our stay here - so much so that I’m currently looking at a calendar to see when we can come back! The beauty of the landscape, nice rooms/house and hospitality felt like a true treat!

Yohah's B&B was the ideal: a beautiful restored home with a fascinating history; an engaged, progressive small community that cares about its residents; a farmer's market, antiques store, a one-of-a-kind hardware store; nine cemeteries (1700's); and a kind, gracious host whose own stories were an important part of the visit to Ashfield. Nearby areas--Northhampton, Shelburne Falls--are well worth a visit.

The inn is in a great location, close to both Stratton and Bromley. Austin was quick to communicate with, check-in was easy, room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast in the morning was great - eggs and bacon, muffins, waffles, etc.

The Wilmington Inn is always a favorite place to stay! It's always quiet and so convenient to restaurants and the shops--we'll be back!

My family and I visited for my nephew’s graduation from UMASS Amherst (which was a 30 min drive away through lovely countryside). Yohah has created a beautiful and unforgettable Airbnb experience in this large historic home: Colorful, clean, nuanced with antiques, a library of interesting content, and other special details. We had lovely conversations about the history of the town, his art and work (he is an accomplished artist in addition to his work as a hospital chaplain). And he treated us to the most delicious and healthy breakfasts. He was so helpful at directing us to local spots. This place would be a prime spot for artists or writers looking to have their own retreat to work on their craft in a peaceful and serene setting. We look forward to someday returning! I had a fantastic experience staying at Ernie’s place! The space was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. Ernie was a great host—responsive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed for a smooth stay.

We had a wonderful stay at John and Kathy’s farmhouse! Great location for a peaceful retreat and close to several mountains for skiing. John’s breakfast was a fantastic start to each day. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding things to do in the area. We hope to be back again!

My boyfriend and I spent two wonderful nights in Cider House 1. We had a fabulous time. Peaceful and relaxing with beautiful fireplace.

This was my first Airbnb experience. From the very beginning, John and Kathy were excellent hosts. They come across as just genuine and likeable people - it really feels like you’re staying with friends. Not to mention, they are SO kind in opening up their entire (gorgeous) home and property to you. They make it clear that while you’re there you have free range to explore the grounds or utilize the fun on-site things such as the fire pit and relaxing common areas. The breakfast served each morning was so thoughtful and delicious; my husband and I really felt like we were being spoiled!! Speaking of spoiled, idk how I’ll ever be able to have a better Airbnb experience than John and Kathy provided as they really set the bar high. Looking forward to booking our next visit here for sure.

What a lovely and beautiful location amongst the woods... perfect living space, a wonderful kitchen with everything we could want or need. Sharon is the consummate host. We absolutely love being there and our 2 dogs do too! We can't wait for our next visit!!

Thomas has a beautiful yoga retreat type of resort up in the mountains of Vermont. The place is stunning. The rooms are very comfortable and they give you a delicious breakfast. It's definitely worth the time and money to stay with Thomas. 5 star rating. I hope to come again with my family.

This is an idyllic setting for a beautiful home with super friendly and caring hosts. The large house, a retreat center with facilities for large groups, sits on a lake overlooked by a gorgeous modern treehouse. Tom and Ravi are excellent hosts and I enjoyed chatting and eating with them and learning about their vision for the property, communal and artistic, with nourishing food fresh from local farms, and a mix of interesting guests. This is the kind of place where you can truly unwind in natural green, wander the extensive grounds and connect socially if that suits you. The beds are comfortable, each room with its own bathroom, and the living rooms are spacious and with walls of books and artwork. Cannot recommend this place more highly. If you’re lucky enough to find availability, don’t hesitate!

I recently spent 3 snowy, quintessentially Vermont days at Thomas & Ravi’s guest house in Newfane, VT. I was given excellent directions & upon arrival Thomas helped heft my heavy ski luggage. This idyllic setting is conveniently located between Brattleboro and Mt. Snow and within a 45 minute drive to Stratton. Would most definitely recommend for a DIY retreat!

This was our second stay and it was just as amazing as we remembered it. We love staying in the Cold River Room, we were so excited it was available for this trip too. It is perfect for a couple having a cozy trip. We also love the homemade breakfast that Wendy makes. This is a beautiful bed and breakfast, but the hosts make it even more special. We are already talking about taking our 3rd trip to see them. Thank you, His and Hers!

If you want peace and quiet then this was the place. Lee and Bob were wonderful just and breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed a morning walk and getting to know our wonderful host.
