The Gambia: soggiorni in hotel

Home away from home: Welcome - We were welcomed by our driver Solomon at the airport and from there it's just a 30-min drive to The Plantation. On arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and big smiles from Nikki and Neil who immediately made us feel very at home. Pool area - Gorgeous pool area set in beautiful garden with a lovely mango tree, lots of flowers and some young banana trees. Lovely birdsong in the mornings. Comfortable luxury loungers for each guest by the poolside. Room - Lovely spacious room (room 6) with comfortable mattresses, fan (with handy USB charger), plenty of clothing space and wet room ensuite. Food - We had dinner at The Plantation 3 times because the food was that good - butterfish night is highly recommended! Delicious breakfast in the mornings with oven-warm bread, eggs, fresh fruit, cereal and juice cooked by the lovely Woori. Staff were wonderful - Solomon in particular is a gentle giant and a highly recommended guide/driver for any outdoor trips. We really enjoyed the time we spent with him. Nikki and Neil couldn't have done more to make our visit very special - they worked hard to meet our every desire, were always on hand and always welcoming. Area - The location of The Plantation offers a perfect opportunity to experience "the real Gambia," set just outside the village of Ghana town and a 10-15min walk to the working beach of Brufut, where you can watch the fishermen pull in their catch of the day. Highly recommend contributing to the local economy by visiting one of the low-key (!) beach bars run by local Gambians along the beach. All in all we had a lovely stay and the room rates offer excellent value for money. Nikki has a keen eye for detail and worked tirelessly to make sure the guest experience was always a good one. We had a nice stay at Kololi. The room was clean, but a little smelly in the beginning. We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it!

When we first stumbled upon this apartment on Airbnb, it seemed almost too good to be true. We thought there was a catch! Everything was as perfect as it seemed online. Mr Sade is the most thoughtful, fun host. He provided us with all the information. The apartment is really comfortable. The kitchen contains everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom and terrace are clean and light. The location was incredible. He went way beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Thanks Mr Sade and Mica apartment for such a wonderful time! We will be back!!

Mijn verblijf bij Bakary was prima. Als je van eenvoudig en basic houdt dan ben je hier op de juiste plek. Het eten was eenvoudig en erg smakelijk. Het strand is rustig, ruim en schoon. Het uitzicht is prachtig, zeker bij zonsopgang en zonsondergang. Bakary en zijn gezin zijn vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De lodge is erg eenvoudig en zou iets beter kunnen. Maar Bakary is druk bezig om alles naar een hoger plan te tillen. Dat is mooi om te zien en gaat hem zeker lukken. Al met al vind ik het een prima verblijf, zeker gezien de prijs.
