It was a very special celebration of our 25th Anniversary that we had planned for our family . Our stay was exactly as we had planned with a welcoming villa, tasty food, great ambience, a wonderful library, every corner tastefully done giving vibe of a spacious villa. Special requests were entertained for decorations etc. Location is amazing as all the sight seeing places are nearby, beach is very near, access road to the villa is very nice. Very neat and tidy. We came back with wonderful memories, Good family time, celebration and relaxation. Both Radha and the caretaker are wonderful and caring people with an eye out for fulfilling the guests desires and prompt responses / actions. Totally recommend Coastaway to all! :)

We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay in Varkala. Ocean front views with a beautiful property that had the most amazing balcony overlooking the cliffs. We especially loved Raju, the property dog. He made us feel safe and was always happy to see us when we returned from our outings. The property is 2 min from the ocean and is walkable to other parts of Varkala cliffs. The A/C and amenities are as described! We plan on coming back next year and would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful spot.

Arnav's villa is well maintained. Sounds poetic, but I felt it's a perfect place to soak-in the nature into your soul. The mornings here are unforgettable. Chirping of the birds. Croaking of the crow. 2 small birds collecting tiny twigs. 3 koels sitting on different trees, conversing with each other. A butterfly hopping across plants. A bird drinking water from the large garden pot. A few children playing cricket in a distant ground. It was a life I had almost forgotten. In the morning, I sat on the grass, sipping tea, absorbing the amazing nature, solved a sudoku puzzle & just relaxed. The morning beach was calm & I enjoyed a good bath in the sea. The kitchen with induction stove was useful. Arnav is an amazing host. Very polite, helpful & friendly. He guided us on places that we could visit. I used the outdoor shower to take bath on both days. Overall, a great place to relax, enjoy pristine nature & a calm beach. We thank Arnav for providing us such a beautiful experience.

We had a very happy time in David's place. David was very kind and welcoming. This place is very near to French colony and Rock beach which are the happening areas around. It was really a pleasant stay. Thank you so much David.😊

The home stay was very comfortable , clean and well maintained. it's at walkable distance from Serenity beach .The host was very polite ,hospitable and communications were very clear right from the get go. I was travelling with my aunt , we felt very safe and comfortable at this place(the host even shared live locations of the place for us to get back safely ). The host arranged for us to get an auto to travel around for the 2 days we were there . the home cooked breakfast was an additional treat. To sum it up , its was a very good and pleasant experience at this homestay.Would highly recommend it to everyone .

Extremely beautiful stay, nicely decorated, with lights. Wonderful access to the beach. Romantic beach chairs, pretty hammock and swing. The sea is visible from the bed too. The eating places are a little far from this location but it’s worth having the peace and quiet. The beach is also relatively secluded, and very clean and beautiful. House is kept clean. The caretaker is good. The breakfast was quite delayed on the first day as he brings it from far, it was also cold, maybe there was problem while bringing. Next day he gave us very tasty breakfast hot and on time.

A lovely little place, perfect for 4-5 people. The place is well-maintained and has a charming aesthetic. Its proximity to the beach—just a stone’s throw away—adds to the appeal. It’s also conveniently located near the main area, making it easy to find restaurants and supermarkets. If you prefer delivery, Swiggy is always an option. Overall, a great experience!

Highly recommend this stay! Our group stayed here for a wedding, and the location was perfect—less than a five-minute drive to the venue. While the entrance is unmarked and can be initially confusing to find, Google Maps guides you accurately. The space matched the photos—clean, with a beautiful pool (perfect for late night swims), property, house, and private beach. The kitchen, living areas, and bedrooms were spotless. The food was outstanding. Breakfast is included, while lunch, dinner, and snacks are affordable à la carte options. Chef Sendhil and his team were incredibly responsive to last-minute requests, from midday samosas to coffee/chai refills. The quality rivaled my mom’s homemade South Indian cooking and truly elevated our experience. The service was exceptional. Whether we needed bug spray or a new WiFi dongle for faster internet, Rekha and Teja responded quickly and efficiently, exceeding our expectations. The staff cleaned our rooms quickly but thoroughly.

The suite was exceptional, providing a peaceful and relaxing holiday experience. The room's appearance precisely matched the provided photographs. The staff were consistently friendly, polite, and readily available to assist with any needs. Getting to Edava Beach was easy from the property. The only downside was some drunk people hanging around the entrance and staring which was a bit annoying when we walked to the beach.

Very peaceful neighborhood and helpful staff. Zack was always responsive. I felt right at home. Would recommend .

Beautiful 1950’s villa with a team of house staff led by Mr Cherian, who took care of everything including delivering amazing food from the sister hotel Eighth Bastion. Sumptuous breakfasts were provided at the hotel, or we could make our own with the provisions supplied (even our fussy 6 year old enjoyed the cornflakes and banana cake). Had a wonderful staycation, with daily music lessons at the Kerala Kathakali centre.

The property is serene, filled with plants, the entry way is gorgeous. The room and the kitchen are well made, a beautiful view, all the necessities were provided and very tidy. There are no restaurants around but food does get delivered there. We were there when a cyclone was passing by, it was the perfect place to be indoors and we didn’t have any issues with the electricity. Prem was an excellent caretaker, he was pro-active and genuinely caring.

It was such a pleasure to stay at this place in Verkala. Hosts were amazing and the apartment is just lovely! All wooden, nice patio with a wooden hammock. Location is perfect, just a short walk to the beach and shops are very close. Can’t wait to come back!

Anand’s place is diagonally opposite to Elliot’s beach. Although there is no sea view from the apartment, the sea is right there, just downstairs! The apartment is old, but it is clean and well maintained. It is spacious and for the three of us it was luxurious. Thank you Anand, we enjoyed staying at your place and will do so again when we visit Chennai.

All was great except the check out process was hastened. It felt we were made to leave an hour early from check out time.

Super relaxing weekend getaway so close to the city.Good restuarants for both dine-in and getting food delivered. Spread over three floors and very spacious. The view of the shoreline and the beach from the top floor terrace was super! A very responsive caretaker as well to top it all!!

Super affordable, comfortable cosy space. A nice rustic beach stay, beautiful animals at the property and super sweet family. Helena was super helpful with any questions we had and gave great advice on what to do and where to go in the area

We had a peaceful and comfortable stay at Gauri Shankar. The home was clean, well-kept, and had all the essential amenities. It’s in a calm area with the beach just a short walk away, and you even get a bit of a beach view from the balcony. The terrace is a lovely spot to unwind. What really made the stay special was Uncle’s warm hospitality. He was always kind, helpful, and thoughtful—sharing great recommendations for places to visit and eat. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pondicherry for a quiet and homely stay.

We had a lovely time at this Mindhun’s place as a family. The house staff took very good care of us and were very kind, attentive and helpful, and the food was lovely. The house is spacious and very clean and suited us well. Host was very helpful and quick to communicate. Only disappointing thing was that we were advised that sea was unsafe to swim in - so we didn’t really get to take advantage of the beach.

We had an incredible stay at Anna’s property! From the moment we arrived, Anna treated us like family — so warm, caring, and attentive. As first-time visitors to the area, she went out of her way to arrange local travel and an amazing backwater ride experience for us, which made our trip even more memorable. The room was very comfortable, clean, and perfect for a peaceful stay. One of the highlights was the breathtaking beach view from the property — it felt like we had our own private beach! This stay was everything we hoped for and more. Thank you, Anna, for making us feel so at home. We can’t wait to visit again!
