Courtney was a great host and very responsive! The location was beautiful and has plenty to do for a winter getaway away. We loved our time here.

My family rang in the New Year here, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is absolutely charming, and the home itself is beautifully styled. If you happen to forget anything, no need to worry—the hosts have thought of everything, even providing a handy book of local recommendations. The home was not only spotless but also incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful communication from the hosts, who sent helpful information ahead of time and were quick to respond to any questions. A perfect stay—10 out of 10! My mom is already planning our return!

The lake house was exactly as described and looked just like the photos. Plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked. Lots of blankets and pillows. The lake was beautiful and the kayaks were really nice to have. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely home in an amazing location. The access to Silver Lake with paddle boards and kayaks readily available was amazing!

My wife and I had a few days off for a fall break. Dennis' place was a perfect spot. The drive there and the surrounding woods were vibrant with color. The place was comfortable, well-suited for a short or long stay, and was stocked with plenty to do. The short path to the lake is great, and the dock provides a lovely view. We spent hours just sitting on the dock chairs reading. We were fortunate to have beautiful sunny days. We took the short drive into Traverse City to go to Trattoria Stella, one of our very favorite restaurants. We also took a short hike out back to connect to the Mt Minnie trail and thoroughly enjoyed that hike. Being minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, and Franfort was a perfect location. Our last evening, we went 15 minutes to Peterson Beach and watched the sun set and stayed to watch all the stars emerge in the darkness. It was amazing! We didn't, but we could have built a fire there on the beach.. We hope to return. Thanks Dennis!

The house is on the canal right off the lake. We kept our boat tied up right outside the house. There are a lot of extras. Lucky for us there was an extra gas can because our gas gage started acting up and we ran out of gas in the middle grounds. There are kayaks you can use. There is a washer and dryer, plus a black stone. Lots of room for parking. I loved the king size bed.

Perfect in every way! Great location, cozy beds and sparkling clean. I was lucky to visit in snow season but can only imagine how beautiful it is Imi the summer.

The cottage was exactly what was advertised and the pictures were accurate. The cottage was very warm, inviting and clean. We had a great time on the water and the location was great to go to other areas such as Traverse City as well. Very nice property!

I asked my 9, 8 & 5 year old about the best part of our stay, and they all agreed that the hot tub, fire pit for s’mores and the board games were the best part. I enjoyed having a quiet space to get homework done with a view of the water. This was the perfect get away for a family of 5! We enjoyed staying inside, cooking meals & enjoying the house itself. It is beautiful inside and out, exactly like the photos and had everything we needed for our stay. We can’t wait to come back during the summer time to go out on the lake!

Great little cozy cottage in a secluded community. Stayed here in early April so didn’t get to take advantage of the beach/gazebo/firepit, but they looked very nice. Nice location close enough to the city but is off the main drag. Would love to stay here again!

It was a really great place to stay in and a beautiful location. Very clean and great amenities, would recommend to anyone traveling up to Houghton. We will probably reserve again when the time comes. :)

This was our first repeat Airbnb experience, we enjoyed Laurie’s place that much! It’s peaceful and the lake is lovely, no matter the time of year. Close to Short’s brewing and Schuss mountain, not far from Boyne, it’s quiet but still well located to have a great up north adventure. It’s also well stocked with toys and books, which is a great plus for our family! And Laurie is super responsive and kind. We might stay a third time!

Memory maker is a beautiful place in Elk Rapids. Peaceful, in front of the lake, excellent location to spend time with a small group of friends/family and 30 minutes away from Traverse city. Really charming and had all amenities for a quick getaway. Even in frosty temperatures, the place looks like a safe heaven.

Absolutely loved our stay at this charming little cabin tucked away in the woods along the Rapid River. It was the perfect peaceful escape—quiet, cozy, and surrounded by nature. The sound of the river nearby was so calming, and the cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. You can tell the hosts put a lot of care into making it feel warm and welcoming. If you’re looking to unplug and recharge, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

A very cozy cabin with a beautiful view. The fall colors were amazing.

Great place and location. The house was cozy and well appointed. It is an older home and comes with quirks. If you are familiar to "up north" cabins this will not be a matter to consider at all. If you are used to champagne and canopy beds and you know who you are look elsewhere like maybe out of state. I have nothing bad to say about this place. You will love it!

The Hawk’s Nest was the best stay! First off, the cabin was incredible! Thoughtfulness and attention to detail throughout the cabin. We stayed for just a quick weekend but wished we could have stayed longer and definitely plan to go back! Hosts provided a detailed list of all sorts of local recommendations. They also checked in and it was super clear that their goal was for us to be completely satisfied with our stay! We loved it!

Was a very beautiful and peaceful place in the woods. The hot tub was super clean, very cozy fireplace area, and the whole set up was just gorgeous. We had a really great experience! We also loved how they are stocked with all the essentials like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, q-tips, and everything you would need. The host was very helpful and responded fast.
