At approximately 5200 feet above sea level, the Lake Atitlan area enjoys year-round spring-like weather (70s to low 80s during the day and 60s at night). Although temperatures remain relatively constant throughout the year the weather is marked by two distinctive seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April). During the rainy season the mountains and volcanoes surrounding the lake are verdant green. The mornings are generally crystal clear, while the afternoons bring spectacular showers that are a sight to behold as they roll in over the lake. During the dry season it is rare to receive any precipitation at all. La Casa Colibri has five luxurious guest rooms each with en-suite bath. Four rooms have spacious balconies overlooking the lake. Two rooms have deep soak tubs with separate showers.

This flower-covered stone cabin, once part of the historic Posada de Santiago, sits inside a private gated community on the lakeshore, where the only sounds are birdsong and water. Light the outdoor fireplace at night, cook under the stars, and end every evening in the jacuzzi as the volcano glows at dusk. Rosita, our resident rescue dog, may join you for an evening by the fire. She's gentle, quiet, and very much part of the soul of Casa Sol.

Casa Amate is a unique glass-fronted home built into the mountain-side overlooking one of the world's most beautiful freshwater lakes. Built into the rock face, but still on right on the lake front, the house cascades down four levels, with numerous terraces. The space is defined by the rock face, glass, concrete, wood & light.
