It sits on the south side of Iron Mountain in the Jefferson National Forest’s Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and takes in the scenic views of Whitetop Mountain and Mount Rogers. Its proximity to sites and towns of middle Appalachia, along with its fresh water, fresh air and relaxed pace make our cabin a lovely spot to visit.

The Berry Cabin--a brand new vacation retreat located at the entrance of Hungry Mother State Park. Underneath new German chink siding are the original logs from the 30s—built in the same fashion as the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) cabins that still exist in the park. Hungry Mother is one of the six original CCC parks that opened in 1936. Come relax with the whole family and enjoy the coziness and the quirks of this 90 year old cabin!
