Ideal for hikers, it offers a bedroom, Wi-Fi, kitchen, theaterroom and bathroom. Walk 50 min (3km) to Tsumago-juku or hike 3 hours to Magome-juku. Enjoy Kiso River and mountain views. This is a traditional Japanese house with a large entrance and white "Noren" curtains. You can rent the entire house out, and it's for up to four people per day. (There are two bedrooms.) There is a private outdoor sauna in the garden. Free high-speed Wi-Fi is available, so you can use it for work space, etc. There is also a library of 5,000 books, and hammocks and personal chairs are also available. You can relax and enjoy reading your favorite books.

Kusa no Niwa | 100-Year Machiya Lodge in Takayama

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.
