With friendly, helpful hosts and a cosy, warm atmosphere, this one of the best places we’ve stayed. From the breathtaking views to the comfy and beautifully equipped accommodation with its warm and relaxing spa, Niki and Piet have created a true oasis of tranquility in a hectic world. While Shetland itself was even better than we’d hoped for, our trip was made truly special with our stay at Voortrekker.

Voortrekker ranks as one of the top places I've ever stayed. Not only was the apartment very evidently thoughtfully handcrafted (half of the furniture is built-in) it was also very functional with everything well supplied, especially the kitchen. This was only made better by its location, with amazing views and perfectly positioned near the airport and for adventuring in any direction you'd wish. The spa is a fantastic addition. Lastly, Niki and Piet were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable hosts – plus they helped me out (twice!) when I had car trouble. As a woman travelling solo, the apartment struck the perfect balance of privacy/independence and security/safety. I highly recommend staying here!

Excellent two nights stay in Joanne’s house，good location with seaview from the big window，the room is warm and cozy. Joanne and John are very friendly and helpful，they gave us some suggestions about the ferry to yell and unst，and allow the advanced luggages storage

Beautiful home-away-from home with lovely hosts! Lerwick is a special town on its own, but our experience as first time visitors was truly elevated with guidance from Jane and John. We are sad to leave but look forward to our return sometime in the future!!

Lovely location. Friendly local people. Ultra quiet. View of sea from outside front door. Amazon Fire TV. Electric hob and oven, microwave, coffee cafetière and teapot. Lots of mugs and glasses. Combined washing machine and dryer. Fast wi-fi. Old-fashioned hat & coat stand in lobby for coats, hats and boots. Lots of blankets and towels.

We had such an amazing stay at Jenny & Pete's! The home was so comfortable, with a really great kitchen set up and a fabulous shower (strong pressure and super hot!) and the most beautiful views over the hill side and cove below. Very convenient to Lerwick, right at a bus stop and less than 10 minutes from town. Jenny was also a really great host, flexible with our check in time and dropping off luggage early, and even helping us sort some car trouble at the end of the trip! Highly recommend!

This was our second visit to Shetland staying at Da Crubbit and we hope to be back again. The location is beautiful amidst the ponies and sheep and a short walk to Minn Beach. Also very convenient to Scalloway and Lerwick if you need to head into the city. The house is perfect for a couple with everything you need. Thank you Lesley for a wonderful stay (again)!

Our stay at South Lodberrie was wonderful. A beautiful home in a perfect location with all the amenities you need for a great stay. Walking distance to shops, cafes, pubs and tourist attractions . Quiet and restful and a great place to unwind. A place that feels like home, only better ! Gil was a wonderful host through the booking process and the stay . Thanks for sharing your beautiful home .

This home is a stunning place to spend time. The photos don't quite do it the justice it deserves. The large & very cosy living room is complemented by the all-mod-cons kitchen. The large bedroom & extremely comfortable bed are a real boon after a hard day's holidaying. The bathroom may look small, but it has everything you need in the space. The peace & quiet is extraordinary. I loved my few days at The Chapel and can highly recommend it.

We enjoyed our stay at The Bulwark very much. It is in a beautiful location, well furnished, and centrally located to our activities in Shetland. Jolene was an excellent host who communicated very well and very quickly. Our only regret is that we did not plan for more time at this location.

We stayed here as part of the Up Helly Aa festival and we had a great time! it was very clean and modern. James was able to meet us early in the morning when we came off the ferry to help us get in the house which was very helpful as it is a rural area. if you do choose to stay here be aware that it is a bit rural (which we enjoyed) but means that you will have to take taxis or the bus system around the island which depending on when your staying may be awkward. Jane and James where great hosts and always available if we had any questions which we really appreciated. will definitely recommend this area to friends coming to the island.
