We had a peaceful and restful stay at Johnna’s place. The home is located in an isolated area among the trees. There is not much to do in the area and it rained our entire stay. However we were content to stay inside and relax. There are games and books available. The tv and wifi service are spotty but that’s to be expected being so far out. The home is comfortable and cozy. And we had plenty of space and everything we needed. We would highly recommend Johnna’s home.

Amazing Stay – Highly Recommend! We had an incredible time at Kevin’s place! From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. Kevin was incredibly welcoming, providing thoughtful touches like local recommendations and a detailed guidebook to make our trip even better. Communication was seamless and quick, and they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. You are only about 1 mile from the beach which was an amazing location!

One of the most beautiful places in California—and maybe even on Earth. This was an absolutely astounding weekend. It’s my second time in Shelter Cove, and I brought my family from abroad just to experience it. The beauty here is beyond words. The property itself is in a spectacular location—perched above the black sand beaches, high enough to stay dry and peaceful, yet close enough to feel connected to the ocean. The views are breathtaking, and the house is incredibly comfortable and spacious, perfect for a large group. Can’t recommend this place enough and I absolutely can’t wait to come back.

This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve stayed in. Pictures don’t do it justice! The house and grounds had so much to offer we “stayed in” the entire weekend. Our host was wonderful and we’d love to come back in the summer to enjoy this property even more.

Shelter Cove is a hidden gem in California & this house is the BEST way to enjoy it. The house is directly on the ocean! The views from the living room, kitchen & my bed room were absolutely spectacular. The house was so clean. The sofas were super comfortable. The downstairs bathroom has a huge tub & the water gets really hot. Multiple beaches within walking distance & lots of sea lions near the lighthouse! Mario's bar & restaurant is also walkable and we met so many kind locals there who told us a lot about Shelter Cove. We saw deer grazing the grass all over town everyday. There's even a shower in the garage you can use after going to the ocean before entering the house. The host's were so kind to leave us a complimentary bottle of local wine & a nice note for us upon entering the house. We had such a great stay here and will definitely be coming back in the future. We were so lucky to find this place. Thanks Todd for letting us stay at your beautiful home!

Aida was communicative and it was easy to check-in and out! Great location for us and accommodated our family of 5.

The rocky cliffs waves crashing view is wowzy. The roads to get there are a bit nerve racking if your used to mostly flat roads.

Great place to stay! Host communicates very well. Can hear traffic from road sometimes but it’s not too bad. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay here at Mallory’s. Out of all of the neighborhoods we’ve could’ve stayed in by the redwoods, this felt one of the safest and most convenient. The place was clean, AC worked, and we took advantage of the cup noodles Mallory left since we arrived later. The only thing I’ll note was the bathroom being downstairs, which might be an inconvenience to some! Otherwise, very clean, safe and welcoming stay, with perfect distance to the wonderful Sips coffee just down the road.

Theresa's place is an absolute gem of heavenly serenity! Located in the magical yet sleepy coastal hamlet of Shelter Cove, this is one of those rare accommodations, memories of which will last a life time. Theresa's studio is charmingly quaint and it will welcome you just as described. She's a great communicator and a very resourceful person when it comes to information about the local community as well as the redwood parks nearby. To top it off, the view of the Pacific (which is at a distance though) from the patio is just incredible. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathroom was squeaky clean and the studio was decked with just the right kind of furniture that you need to spend the weekend. 100% recommended, we will definitely visit again.

The house was AMAZING! The kitchen is stocked with everything needed once you've bought your groceries! The rooms were spacious and the grounds were well kept. A very beautiful home and we felt extremely comfortable staying there! Shelter Cove is a quiet beach town with lots of natural beauty, walking trails, and you've got to visit Black Sand Beach while there! Marc's house overlooks the Cove; we spent every evening watching the sun set over the ocean. What a peaceful place to be!!! On the only road in and out (Shelter Cove Rd) there is a stand of old growth Redwoods and a small parking area off the road where you can hike. A must see area while there. One thing to know is the road has many curves and some are really tight. You definitely want to plan your trip to the grocery store and get everything you need at one time - it takes about 50 minutes to the closest one in Redway. There is a small shop near the house but the prices are significantly higher there.

Great location with nice cozy rooms. Great spot to recover after doing the LCT. Staff was friendly and helpful. Next time im in the "Cove" I will for sure be staying here.

Loved our stay at Shelter Cove, the views were unbeatable and it was also a great night for stargazing. We enjoyed the balcony and the jacuzzi in the living room that looked out into the ocean. Everything was incredible comfortable, we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful view, great host!

A great cozy stay with beautiful views and surroundings. The inside was nice and clean with plenty of amenities. The sounds of the oceans were peaceful. The sunset over the ocean was beautiful. The hot tub is a great addition. Would definitely stay there again.

This was our first time. After reading all the reviews this place did not disappoint. It was very clean, quiet and the views were breathtaking. There is a place to eat next door that is fantastic. I highly recommend the eggs Benedict. The drive in was absolutely beautiful with all the trees. Our stay was exactly what we needed. I look forward to going back.
