The 1847 Powhattan House & Living History Museum

Until there is time-travel, staying in the 1847 Powhatan House may be the next best thing. This is the 3rd oldest house in Galveston and has an amazing, almost unbelievable history. This beautiful Greek Revival style home is located 3 blocks from the beach and close to the Strand. The story of the house is told in a brief documentary on YouTube entitled “The Amazing History of Galveston's 1847 Powhatan House.”

Pets are accepted but require a non-refundable 85 pet fee payable at check-in. All stainless steel appliances. Lounge in the backyard or enjoy the front porch and ocean breezes. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).

It has a pool, barbecue facility, tennis court, a downstairs sitting area with a grand piano and laundry facilities and 24 hour front desk.
