Amazing kids outdoor play center with a soft black cushion floor. Can rent paddle boats. In summer they also have those inflatable clear plastic balls that one person goes in on the water and they try to get around- much like a gerbil in a play ball. Beautiful trail and Walk along the Red Deer River. You can walk all the way to Heritage Ranch. You'll go over a lovely pedestrian bridge over the Red Deer River and through the forested trail.s Geese and ducks in season.
Free Skating on the pond in the winter all day (opens at 11 am) and in the evening. My favourite place for great outdoor ice. Skate rental is 15$/pair if you need it. Also they have a kiosk that sells icecream drinks, deep fried yummies. The deep fried pickles are the best!

You can spend hours here! Beautiful bird sanctuary. No charge to get in. I understand there is a little fishing pond for children. Plus there is a Blue Bird Festival in June. Check them out! (Closed on Mondays)

This is a fun farm that has sunflower mazes! It's a great place to take pictures. They have photo props for you even. As well, you can buy local preserve, see some farm animals and get some sunshine.

This sandy beach is about 25 minutes away. The water is shallow for a long ways out- which is perfect if your watching little children. It’s much less busy than Sylvan Lake beach. Also, you can park close to the beach and there’s a concession stand.

Okay, so I couldn’t just select the beach but if you go here you’ll be there! I think this is my new favourite beach. There’s loads of sand and the water is warm. The water is nice and shallow for little kids. Plus there’s food trucks, public bathrooms and playgrounds right on the beach.

Also, they have a VIRTUAL REALITY game place in the building that my son has been trying to get me to do because its so fun. (But I'm all thumbs with technology)

They craft them as an art, not just slap it together like most places." And as Im not familiar with the night life scene I thought I'd pass it along to those who are. This is a wonderful organic food store in Red Deer. They started with 8 families and the basement of their duplex, buying and sorting bulk organic produce orders once a week ... Amazing selection and fresh produce. On my bike rides along the Red Deer River I stop in to buy trail cookies. They're huge, fresh and so tasty!
