I can highly recommend their fries too if you need a salty fried treat to pick you up! the Chicken Turkish in the cabinet is delicious too. Take away is served from 8.30 am and it is right in the heart of town.
The newest edition to Albert town and a short 5 min drive from downtown Wanaka is Pembroke Patisseries. Its a cute little cafe serving great coffee and amazing pastries sweet and savoury. They make amazing donuts but the almond croissants are next level good times! May i suggest a bike ride along the Clutha river track ending up at the cafe for morning tea or an afternoon delight.

Hook Wanaka opened in the Summer of 2018/19. It is a delightful outdoor dining experience. They have huge ponds filled with fish and expansive green grounds to wander around. you can catch a fish and the onsite chefs will prepare it for you on site. Its a great spot for Kids with a huge sandpit and great toys.

Cork Bar is situated on the main street and has an amazing wine list by the glass and delicious cocktails. a slightly older clientel i would suggest but we head there for an after work pick me up from time to time.

They have a great range of Wanaka branded T.shirts and caps if your looking for a gift or souvenir. They also have the biggest range of Mons Royale in town which is a local Merino Wool clothing company which is definitely worth checking out while you are here.

The worlds most famous tree down in the left corner of Roys Bay. A tourist hot spot for an iconic Wanaka photo. There is a great walking track from the car park that can take you round the lake to Glendu Bay. Or you could stroll along for 10 mins or so and reach Edgewater Resort which serves great coffee/drinks and makes amazing scones to order!

The Waterfall Creek track is a beautiful undulating track that follows the lake all the way around to Glendu Bay. There are amazing views looking back at Wanaka and is a favorite walk of ours.

There is a cute wee beach at the end of Beacon Point Road called Penrith. Its the perfect place for a drink on the beach to watch the sunset.

Treble Cone is an awesome ski area out towards Mount Aspiring National Park. In the winter if your not in to skiing you can head up to Treble Cone and take a scenic trip up the chairlift for $39 (i think) the view is AMAZING and i would highly recommend this is a winter activity! The coffee is good and the beer is ice cold up there!

In the winter if your not in to skiing you can head up to Treble Cone and take a scenic trip up the chairlift for $39 (i think) the view is AMAZING and i would highly recommend this is a winter activity! The coffee is good and the beer is ice cold up there!

Rubys is a 10 min walk from the apartment. It is a small boutique cinema showing the latest releases. It is run by the delightful Jordi who is more than happy to recommend a movie, local wine to enjoy or delicious snack. they provide seat service too so the wine and snacks can continue throughout the showing. there is always a half time too which is nice if you want to go out and choose something sweet from the bar. The showings can get booked out especially during school holidays or rainy days so it is worth pre booking. Top tip - the home made Rocky Road choc bar is delicious!!

The Wanaka Lavender Farm is a super cute locally owned Lavender Farm with an adorable Tea room, shop and animals! If you have kids that need entertaining head out there to see the Highland cows, Pigs and Alpacas and enjoy a refreshing cup of tea while your there.

Bike Glendhu is AWESOME!
Its a short piteresque drive from Wanaka. They have an awesome little base building with a great cafe, kids pump track and sand pit and cool outdoor area. They even have local beers on tap!
the real goods is the bike park though! amazing rides and amazing views. If you don't have your own wheels not too worry as you can rent bikes and bikes at the base building. If you have never ridden a mountain bike before maybe check out one of the local lake trails before you head out there.
If you have kids its a rad place to just go and hang out!
