This recently opened place is the closest coffee house to my apartment - so I've been going here often. Bright, Caribbean decor - beautiful, green courtyard. Good coffee and sandwiches. Free wifi. Turns into a bar in the evening after 7PM, often with a DJ.

This unassuming place has great Indian food. Better than the average take-out spot. They seem to do most of their business for delivery, so it's never crowded and they have great lunch specials to get you inside. I get delivery all the time - and it's always fast, hot and superb.

Roberta's actually does deserve it's fame. It's at the center of making this whole area into a food destination. The food is very, very good - if you're visiting, you really have to go here. The great thing is you can order something fabulous and pricey off the menu, or indulge in their creative specials - or you can just have their extremely good pizza and not spend a lot. I don't go here for dinner often because it's always crowded after 6 - I usually go for lunch. In the summer it's great to eat in their courtyard where they grow a lot of their own food.

The food is ostensibly Italian - but modern, inventive and always surprising. Always crazy delicious. this is a Michelin-rated restaurant, the food isn't cheap - but it's definitely worth it. Dinner only.

Skytown is both a bar AND a cafe, depending on the time of day. In the evening it's a great place to grab a cocktail or get a snack. It's also a perfectly lovely place to just get coffee or a sandwich in the day.

Blue Bottle is very a very trendy, very expensive coffee shop and roaster. Of course the coffee is superb, and the space is beautifully designed and bright. I occasionally stop in to work on my laptop or to have a business meeting.

It's mostly an indie comics shop, but also filled to the brim with artists editions, prints, graphic novels and artist created buttons, patches, stickers and zines. It's worth the trip even if just to check out their always imaginative artist created window displays!

This tiny market is the best. I end up going here the most to pick up groceries. Good prices on healthy food and snacks, great prices on fresh fruit and vegetables. They have a Fresh juice bar. It's also open 24 hours!

24 hours self-serve laundry, and also drop-of laundry service. I'm not a fan of the drop off, because they don't separate the colors - so make sure you have a color or whites load, then it's fine.
