Rockport Blue Wave Beach

Rockport Beach is a beautiful clean little beach with Tiki huts, a nice fishing pier at the north end, and a separate Saltwater pool for swimming. Great for families with small children and also a delightful place for a Beach Wedding. Pavilions are available for rent. Parking costs for Rockport Beach are $10/Daily and $40/Yearly. Port Aransas Beach

Port Aransas is a 6.3 mile beach that you can actually drive your vehicle on. Parking a car on the beach requires a $12 annual sticker that can be purchased at City Hall (710 W. Avenue A), the local Family Center IGA grocery store, local convenience stores, or from vendors located on the beach. Whether you dream of building sandcastles, taking long walks along the seashore, or just napping in your lounge chair, Port Aransas on the Gulf of Mexico will be a place you'll want to add to your list of things to do. Port Aransas Beach is about a 30 minute drive from our location and includes an exciting ferry ride (about 10 minutes) across the channel. You will drive your car onto the ferry and you can either remain in your vehicle or get out and enjoy the ride on deck. It's an exhilarating experience! Keep in mind that wait times for the ferry during peak/holiday seasons can be quite lengthy.

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge

Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is best known as the wintering home of the last wild flock of endangered whooping cranes. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service conserves land and water on national wildlife refuges for more than 700 species of birds, 220 species of mammals, 250 reptile and amphibian species, and more than 1,000 species of fish. Take the 16 mile auto tour, fish from the pier, walk up the observation towers, and relax and enjoy a picnic overlooking San Antonio Bay. Take time to relax and stretch your legs along several miles of walking trails. You'll find platforms, spotting scopes, diverse plants and wildlife, and stunning views of the bay and wildlife habitat. Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is 57 miles north of our location. Learn about George Fulton's engineering skills, take a walk through a garden inspired by Harriet's love of flowers, and hear the stories of living in a grand Victorian villa. Located behind the mansion, the Education and History Center offers interactive exhibits and a museum store. Located at 317 S. Fulton Beach Rd.
