The home is only 8 minutes from the lake. You can rent a pontoon boat if you'd like to go out.
The dam is walkable for pedestrians and great place to go if you want to catch the sunset.

It starts at 9am and goes till 1pm. It's one of my favorite ways to spend Saturday.

A nice place if you want to do a jog along the water. There's plenty of free parking. Depending on the time of year you may see some wildlife: deers, otters, beavers, cranes. Stay on the path and don't get too close to the water though one time I saw a gator.

Despite it's name I'm actually recommending this place for it's BBQ. Monday -Thursday they have a delicious BBQ buffet. I'm not one to frequent all you can eat buffets but if you really want to get the full Carolina BBQ experience in one go, this is a great place to go.
